Packing Tips for Clothes and Other Items

When packing for a vacation the most important things to keep in mind are the length of your trip, the weather, and any non-standard clothing or gear you might need.

Your first steps should be to decide How many luggage you are going to carry and how many luggage you will be checking in and after that decide the number of clothes you want to carry.

One thing which we do all the time is deciding the number of days we are staying at particular place and denoted the dress we will wear on that day. We always try to pre-decide the attire so it helps us to pack light and saves our effort to get ready on the day of the trip as we already know what to wear.

Typically you should avoid checking in baggage if you have a multiple layover flights because of the risk of the checked in luggage getting lost. We have experience that during our one trip when one of our Bag was lost in Kazakhstan during our flight with Air Sultan. It took them around 4 days to find the luggage and send it to our home address in Germany, We were lucky that we got our luggage on the first place.

You might also want to avoid checking baggage if you actually need the item, For example if you are going on a cruise right away after landing.

If you want to be light with your packing you can decide to take neutral colour clothes as you can wear them more than once and they are more versatile.

Also you can try investing in clothes like this if you love travelling, I personally like wrinkle-resistant shirts, quick drying underwear and undergarments, casual sneaker, compressible Jackets and so on.

When curating your packing list, you should keep in mind the length of your trip and decide on quantities from there. For a shorter trip (three to five days), you can probably manage with the following: one pair of underwear and socks per day, one pair of pajamas, one to two dressier outfits, one to two activewear or athleisure outfits, one to two casual outfits, and one to two pairs of shoes. For a longer trip (over a week), you can manage with one pair of underwear and socks per day, two pairs of pajamas, three dressier outfits, three to four casual outfits, two pairs of shoes, and two activewear or athleisure outfits.

And if you’re able to do laundry on your vacation, you can probably manage with even fewer items. Just don’t forget to pack a travel laundry kit

How to Pack Toiletries and Medications.

If it is vital medicine or your favorite lipstick, it may range from being slightly inconvenient to being a severe issue to missing some form of toiletry. For toiletries, make sure you pack your necessary things, such as medications, contacts, and any other products you might not be able to buy or replace during your travels. (Put them in your carry-on bag and not in your packed suitcase.)

We also recommend travelling with some type of a travel first-aid kit, which includes items like tweezers, first-aid ointment, bandages, travel-sized hand sanitizer, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

Packing Tips for Everything Else

Travelling without tech items like your phone, laptop, tablet, or camera can be a major bummer. For those travelling abroad, you’ll also want to remember to pack electronic adapters and converters.

Other tech-related items for photographers to pack are a sturdy camera bag, backup batteries, and memory cards, as well as lens cleaner. And don’t forget smartphone essentials like a backup charger, waterproof case if you’re headed out on the water, and a phone stand or tripod for photos.

A lesson we’ve learned the hard way on travel packing? Fly with a copy of your passport, credit card and bank details, along with a list of drugs and your details for emergencies.

When you’re going overseas, we have a full checklist for you but your passport and visas are the most important thing to remember here. Make sure your passport is up-to-date, has a minimum validity of six months and has enough blank pages for any stamps. Another guide on traveling internationally? Give yourself plenty of time to apply for any visas you may need (We’ve got a handy visa requirement list here which you can use to plan.)

There are certain items which you may think is not needed but surely comes handy at times and you should include in your travel packing list, toilet paper, toiler sanitizer, tape.

What to Always Pack in Your Carry-on Bag

You should always ensure that you have your Passport, wallet, house keys, prescriptions, valuables, camera, phone, laptop, tablet, pen, cash and cards, glasses and a copy of your itinerary with you on the plane if you are separated from your checked bag or any other things.

Certain things you may want to bring handy with you include flight entertainment, comfort-promoting things such as a blanket or cushion, as well as an empty water bottle to fill up post-safety (here’s a list of our favourites), a change of clothes (just in case your baggage gets lost or delayed), snacks and gum.
